Giro Day Eight: Aerodynamics

Besides unbelieveable determination, incredible strength and training, winning a time trial is about aerodynamics.  The bicycles are designed to slice through the air and to deliver the cyclist's power to the drive train as efficiently as possible, the "skin suit" is made to slide the body through the air with as little wind resistance as conceivable.  And the position on the bike is about disturbing as little air as a speeding bullet (and the shape is much the same).  Here is Cadel Evans in his aero-tuck on his way to moving into second place in the overall standings.  This is an original watercolor and ink postcard that is available for sale on my artist website.  Just follow the direct link at the end of this post.
