Giro d'Italia Stage 3: Leaving It All on the Road

Marcel Kittel came into the final kilometer of the stage into Dublin about ten riders down and without his lead out men.  To make it worst the two riders he edged out in Stage 2, Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ) and Elia Viviani (Cannondale) had several team mates to deliver them to the line without ever sticking their noses in the line.  And yet it was Marcel who was able to jump around them all just nipping them all at the line with an incredible burst of speed into the wind with a slightly up hill sprint.  There is an expression, "Leave it all out on the road" meaning that you should spend every ounce of energy you have in the race and not second guess yourself later if you fail.  Kittel not only did not fail, but collapsed onto the streets of Dublin after he won is second sprint in as many days.  This is an original watercolor and ink postcard that is available for purchase at my artist website, www.greigleach.com.  For this particular painting you could just follow the direct link at the end of this post.
