Giro Stage 12: He Wants His Jersey Back

As you can see by the umbrellas along the side of the road, Stage 12 was a long wet day in the saddle for the peloton.  On the first categorized climb of the day, Simon Geschke (Giant-Alpecin) jumped from the peloton to gain the maximum points in the King of the Mountain competition.  Unfortunately for the German, Benat Intxausti (Movistar) who had taken the jersey from Geschke in the previous stage, manged to summit Castelnuovo next.  By taking second on the climb, Intxausti was able to hold onto the Azure Blue King of the Mountians Jersey.  While the White Jersey and Pink Jersey have stay constant, the Blue Jersey and Red Sprinter's Jersey have changed hands nearly every stage.

This is a small original watercolor and ink painting that was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from the American family run art supply company, Jack Richeson & Company, www.richesonart.com.  This painting is available for purchase through my artist website for the low price of $50 USD, plus shipping (including international shipping).  To buy this particular painting, just follow the direct link at the end of this post.
