Giro Stage 9: Another Dig

Just as the commentators for BeIn Sports USA were saying that they doubted anyone of the GC guys would attack, Fabio Aru (Astana) launched the first salvo in the effort to gain seconds on Alberto Contador (Tinkoff Saxo).  Contador himself cover the attack with Aru's teammate, Mikel Landa stuck to the Maglia Rosa's wheel.  Richie Porte (Team Sky) was caught out at first but quickly latched on to the wheels of the climbing trio.  One GC man who wasn't able to match the accelerations was the two time Giro runner up, Rigoberto Uran (Etixx Quickstep).  Aru started the day just 4 seconds off of the lead and has been trying to close that gap before the individual time trial at the end of the week.

This is a small original watercolor and ink painting that was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from Jack Richeson & Company, www.richesonart.com.  This painting is available for purchase through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  To buy this particular painting for only $50 USD, just follow the direct link at the end of this post.  International shipping is available.
