Tour de France Stage 1: Setting a Very High Bar

Rohan Dennis (BMC) came to the Tour ready to race!  While he was one of the early riders to hit the short 13.8 technical course on the streets of Utrecht, it appeared that he laid down a very fast ride.  In fact his average speed of 55.7 kilometers per hour is the fastest pace ever recorded for a time trial in the history of the Tour de France.  It should come as no surprise that the former holder of the hour record (a feat he achieved early in 2015) was able to turn in such a strong time trial.  The extra incentive for the day, whoever wins the stage will pull on the first Maillot Juane of the 2015 Tour de France.

This is a small original watercolor and ink painting that was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.richesonart.com.  This painting and all of my cycling art is available for purchase through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  To purchase this particular painting, just follow the direct link at the end of this post.  And yes, international shipping is available.
