Rio Olympics: Introductions

One of the reasons I am doing this project is to challenge myself artistically.  I am exploring foreshortening, perspective and story telling in quick ink sketch and watercolors.  These pieces are done live and in the moment without preliminary pencil sketches or an eraser.  This is from the camera taking tight shots of each racer as she is introduced to the crowd (and us watching on TV).  Jamaican Elaine Thompson is closest to the picture plane cool and composed before racing to the Gold Medal.  Next to her is Tori Bowie (USA) who claimed the Bronze.  On her left is the tall Dutchwoman, Dafne Schippers, the Silver Medalists.  And finally, the runner from the Cote Ivorie, Marie-Josse Talou, obviously, she did not medal in the Women's 200 Meter Dash.

This is a small watercolors and ink painting measuring just 4"x6" and was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.richesonart.com.  This painting and all of my Olympics artwork will be available through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  To purchase this particular painting just follow the direct link at the end of this post.  Remember this is an original work of art, so once it has been sold, it is gone.  Don't delay buy it now!
