Rio Olympics: Setting the Pace

Team Canada had made it through to the Bronze Medal round of the Women's Team Pursuit.  The quartet had managed to gain an early lead.  As they racked up the laps, they eventually dropped their fourth just as New Zealand did the same.  Since the time is taken on the third woman to cross the line, the fourth rider will do extra long pulls on the front until she can no longer sustain the pace.  She'll swing off and finish her laps at her own pace, avoiding impeding the progress of either team.

This is a small watercolors and ink painting measuring just 4"x6" and was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.richesonart.com.  This painting and all of my Olympics artwork will be available through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  To purchase this particular painting just follow the direct link at the end of this post.
