Rio Olympics: Splash Down

Emma Coburn (USA) lead the rest of the pack through the water obstacle on her way to qualifying for the medal race.  Behind her, just clearing the rail is Habiba Ghirbi (Tunsia).  It should be noted that it is impossible to avoid landing in the water, so the choice of footwear is important in the 1,500 meter race.  Running in wet shoes seems awful to me.

This is a small watercolors and ink painting measuring just 4"x6" and was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.richesonart.com.  This painting and all of my Olympics artwork will be available through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  To purchase this particular painting just follow the direct link at the end of this post.
