Bergen 2017, Elite Women's Road Race: Strength in Numbers

The Dutch were in the final break of the day, and they were there in numbers.  The ladies in orange were three out of the seven off the front of the peloton, now 28 seconds behind.  Included in the break were the top three finishers in the Elite Women's Individual Time Trial.  Leading was the silver medal, Anna Van Der Breggen (Netherlands) on her wheel, the bronze, Katrin Garfoot (Australia) and behind Kataryna Niewiadoma (Poland) followed by the gold, Annemiek Van Vleutin (Netherlands).  Bringing up the rear (that you can see) is the French woman, Audrey Cordon Ragot.  With just eight kilometers left to race, it was a sure bet that the winner would be coming from this group.  Side note, there are two more you can't see.

This is a small watercolors and ink painting measuring just 4"x6" and was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.richesonart.com.  This painting and all of my Olympics artwork will be available through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  To purchase this particular painting just follow the direct link at the end of this post.  It is only $75 USD and international shipping is available.
