Vuelta, Stage 14: We Tried

When the true accelerations in the front group started on the final climb up to theSierra de La Pandera, it was Ricardo Vilela (Manzana Postoban) and Luis Angel Mate (Cofidis) who were caught first by the peloton.  The pair shook hands as they were caught, honoring the work that they had done together over the preceeding kilometers.  Bike racing is a sport of ever changing temporary and long term alliances.

This is a small watercolors and ink painting measuring just 4"x6" and was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from  This painting and all of my Olympics artwork will be available through my artist website at  To purchase this particular painting just follow the direct link at the end of this post.  It is only $75 USD and international shipping is available.
