Giro, Stage 16: Keeps the Italian Hopes Alive

It wasn't until I was photographing this painting to post that I discovered I hadn't written, "Keeping the Italian Hopes Alive"  I was able to squeeze in an "S" to make some sort of grammatical sense for this, perhaps, my favorite of my Giro paintings.  Domenico Pozzovivo (Bahrain Merida) had his best time trial of his career, allowing him to hold third on the general classification against some true strongman of the discipline.  He is the, somewhat unexpected, best place Italian in their home tour.  With his climbing legs, he is still in with a chance to move up on the GC, maybe even to take the Maglia Rosa in the last week of the race.  His legs out style may not have looked pretty today, but it sure got the job done!

This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available though my website at www.greigleach.com, or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of this post.  Since it is an original it is first come first served.  The painting was created using Yarka St Petersburg watercolors from Richesonart.com. The work sells for $75 plus shipping. And yes, international shipping is available.
