With the gap to the break away foursome barely budging, the question needs to be asked, "Is the peloton chasing, or just protecting their favored riders?" Dennis Rohan (BMC) went to the front with his other domestiques, Michael Schar and Marcus Burghardt, to lift the pace a bit, but it seems more that they were interested in keeping their twin team leaders, Tejay van Garderen and Richie Porte safe, rather than actually chasing the escapees down. The other team riding at the front where the boys from Cannondale-Drapac, with Ramunas Navardauskas leading the way for them.
On a side note, Dimension Data not only sponsor a team (currently holding the Yellow Jersey) but as a race sponsor, they have their signage along the side of the course.
This is a small original watercolor and ink painting that was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from Jack Richeson & Company. This painting, along with all of my cycling art, is available through my artist website at www.greigleach.com. While you are on the site, be sure to check out my other works of art and my two cycling books. To purchase this particular painting, just follow the direct link at the end of this post. Bear in mind that this is a one of a kind original and once it is gone, it is gone.
