With the break building up just shy of ten minutes on the peloton, it fell to Jack Bauer (Mitchelton-Scott) to drive up the pace and give chase. He was experiencing the down side of having the Ochre Jersey on the shoulders of a teammate. Behind him was most of Ag2r La Mondiale. Each teammate will make sure his compatriots are top up with water and food. With the continued heat of South Australia, the organization started the stage an hour early in hopes of avoiding the worst of the heat. With temps over 105 degrees, I hate to think what the heat of the day might be.
