Tour Stage Eleven: The Fast Man of France

Sylvain Chavanel got to race today in the tricolor jersey of the French Champion in the Time Trial discipline and laid out a blistering ride to the delight of the French home crowd.  When he crossed the line he had second place with about a dozen yet to finish.  Ultimately he was in for the seventh best time at the end of the day, so he was one of the few that were not drastically damaged by the quality of ride put in by the Yellow Jersey.  This is an original watercolor and ink postcard that could be yours by visiting my artist website where you will be able to purchase this original painting.  Just follow the direct link at the end of the post to get your piece of the 100th Tour de France.

Dauphine Stage Four: Flying French Man

I am a fan of puns, so this title is a play on the famous opera, The Flying Dutchman.  Sylvain Chavanel is the current French National Time Trial Champion, so he is deck out in the tricolor flag.  He rides for Omega Pharma Quickstep, but he wears in country's colors in the time trial today.  This is an original watercolor and ink postcard that can be yours by visiting my artist website.  Just follow the direct link at the end of this post.

Dauphine Stage Four: Ready to Roll

Tony Martin is the current Time Trial World Champion, wearing the rainbow jersey with the giant stop watch on the chest.  The time trial is a race against the clock, often called the race of truth because of the rider's efforts are his alone.  There is no teammate to help break the wind, just the individual strength and endurance of the rider.  Martin proved today, why he is the World Champion in the discipline, wining by nearly a minute over the next fastest rider.  This is an original watercolor and ink watercolor and like all of the pieces in this series was created using cake watercolors, brushes and paper from www.richesonart.com  In addition this work is available for purchase through my artist website.  Just follow the direct link at the end of this post.
