Tony Gallopin (Lotto-Belisol) and Mickael Cherel (AG2R) found themselves off the front of the large chasing group as they slid under the 15 kilometers to go banner. The two Frenchman obviously exchange some words, I will assume Gallopin was asking his countryman to help pace him towards the finish line. By now the Lotto-Belisol rider could believe in his chance to be on the podium in Yellow at the finish line in Mulhouse. The pair had no hope of catching the lone German, Tony Martin (OPQS) who clearly had the stage in hand. After all, he is almost three minutes ahead of these two and I don't believe there is anyone in between. When the stage gets as split apart as this one there aren't enough moto cameras to cover all of the small groups of competitors and it can get very confusing trying to keep track of who is where, who has been caught and who has slipped off of any of the separate groups. This is an original small watercolor and ink painting that is available through my artist website at www.greigleach.com. This painting will be part of my soon to be self publish book, "Book de Tour" the Tour through the eyes of an artist.
