Thomas De Gendt (Lotto Soudal) resplendent in Polka Dots, has ridden everyone of his break away companions off of his wheel. The final victim to the strength of the King of the Mountains was Egor Silin (Katusha) who managed to hang in there until the final kilometer of the stage. De Gendt is counting on the small rise to the line to give him just the advantage he needs to hold off the sprinters.
