Tour Down Under '23, Final Stage: These Points Are Mine

It took forever to get a break away started in today's final stage of the Tour Down Under.  I suspect because there were several different goals for those getting away from the peloton.  First was an early intermediate sprint and second the early King of the Mountains points.  And then there is always the goal of sneaking away with a stage win, I imagine that was going to be a tall order today.  It seemed that Michael Matthews (Jayco-Alula) was letting the trio of Michael Gogl (Alpecin-Deceuninck), Rueben Thompson (Groupama-FDJ) and Maximilian Schachmann (Bora-Hansgrohe) know that he was the one already in the sprinter's jeresey and that they had best not try and out sprint him in about ten kilometers time.  They didn't.  With Matthews taking the three points towards the jersey in Urladia, he now will be the winner of the Tour Down Under's best sprinter jersey.  The others would still have to strive to win the stage over the next 99 kilometers of racing.

This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available through my website at greigleach.com or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of the post to purchase the painting above. Since it is an original work of art, it is a first come first served reality. The painting was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.Richesonart.com. The work sells for $90 USD including shipping, and yes, international shipping is available.

If you can't afford to purchase a piece you could always help keep me going by buying me a cup of coffee at buymeacoffee.com/greigsartc.  And check out my vlogs at my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLGX-TnjXDSkkOidUE6pN1g
