Gullegem, Women's Cyclocross: Muck and Mire

Today's course in Gullegem was set up to be a muddy run through a meadow in Belgium.  In the first of five laps, it was Zoe Backstedt (Canyon-SRAM) leading Ceylin del Carmen Alvardeo (Fenix-Deceuninck), Leonie Bentveld (Pawel Sauzen-Cibel Clementines), Aniek van Alphen (Cyclocross Reds) and the rest of the peloton through the longer mud field.  Not a fan of sloshy muddy shows this just doesn't seem very pleasant to me.  Still, mud, muck and mire seems to be the common denominator in all cyclocross events.

This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available through my website at greigleach.com or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of the post to purchase the painting above. Since it is an original work of art, it is a first come first served reality. The work sells for $95 USD including shipping, but, yes, international shipping is both available and extra.
