Spartacus showed how to win an Olympic Time Trial! Fabian Cancellara (Switzerland) had left the Tour de France ahead of the final Alpine stages in order to prepare for these Olympic Games. Apparently it was the right decision. He smoked up the wet roads of Rio on his way to taking Gold in this his last Olympic appearance. Chapeau, Fabulous Fabian!

Rio Olympics: Off He Goes
Clearly this will be Fabian Cancellara's (Switzerland) last Olympic Time Trial. He is retiring from the sport at the end of this season, so this may be his last race of truth for Spartacus. I am sure he would have preferred better conditions, but you have to go with what you get in cycling. Cancellara is a four time World Champion in this discipline and a former Olympic Gold Medalists as well.

Tour, Stage 7: Looking for the Others
The duo of Fabian Cancellara (Trek-Segafredo) and David Navarro (Cofidis) proved to fast going down hill for the rest of those in the break away. Once they hit the valley below, Spartacus looked back over his shoulder to find out where they all had gone. The streets were lined with the traditional plane trees and thousands of cheering fans welcoming the racers to the first stage in the Pyrenees. I am not quite sure why the current time trial champion of Switzerland is up in the front group unless it is to help his teammate Jasper Stuyven across the flatter roads in a bid to retake the Maillot a Pois.
