Chris Froome (Team Sky) was living a very unpleasant deja vu, hitting the pavement hard early in the stage, repeating his early crash in Stage 4. The peloton woke up to driving rain, fearing the treachery of seven, wet, muddy sections of pave. Froome was on the surface of the road long before the peloton got to even the first section of washboard like road surface. Like yesterday, Froome was near the front of the peloton when he was caught out by a sharp change of direction from another rider. This time the rider was avoiding a road construction barrier. It was near poetry in motion to watch the smooth hand over of a new bike from Sky's race mechanic. Several riders went down in the crash, you can see a guy from Team Cannondale getting a push from his mechanic. This is a small original watercolor and ink painting that is available through my artist website. It will be included in my soon to be self published tome, "Book de Tour".
