Paris Olympics 2024, Women's ITT: There Should Be a Medal in It

Simultaneously making herself as small to the wind as possible, and sprinting, Anna Hendersen (Great Britain) pushed all of the way to the line over the Pont Alexandre.  I am sure that her coach was yelling through the radio in her ear that she was on a great ride.  As she crossed the line, she set another new best time for the course.  She had two women out on the road behind her, so she was in for a Bronze Medal at least.  She couldn't quite hold onto that best time, when Grace Brown finished, but the final rider on the road came in ten seconds slower.  That means she has won Silver for Great Britain!

Gent-Wevelgem 23, Women's Race: Can They Catch Her?

It would seem that a group of seven should be able to chase down a single escapee in the final 30 kilometers, but instead partially due to the leader's teammate, Christine Majerus (SD Worx) the gap just kept growing.  These seven including Majerus and Shirin Van Anrooij (Trek-Segafredo), Elinor Barker (Uno-X), Eugenia Bujak (UAE Team ADQ), Pfeiffer Georgi (DSM), Shari Bossuyt (Canyon SRAM) and Anna Hendersen (Jumbo-Visma) seemed unable to close the widening gap.  If they aren't careful, they will find that the rest of the peloton will be able to catch them instead.  If they do, then these women will have even less of a chance of getting onto the podium in Wevelgem.

Gent-Wevelgem 23, Women's Race: Opening Up a Gap

This trio of stars of the women's peloton used the first trip up the Kemmelberg to open up a bit of a gap on those still in the peloton.  It was Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx) who seemed to glide up the cobbles with both Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon-SRAM) and Anna Hendersen (Jumbo-Visma) struggling to hold onto the Belgium's wheel.  With 52 kilometers to race it might be the move that wins the race.  Then again, the peloton might just get itself organized on the way back down the other side.

La Course, One of These Six?

It was looking like these six had made the move of the day.  They had slipped off the front of the main peloton at the summit of the Cote de Rimiez and pushed their advantage on the rolling climb and following descent back down to Nice.  Anna Hendersen (Sunweb) took a drink as she rolled to the back of the pace line.  Ahead of her were Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (FDJ Nouvelle Aquitaine Futuroscope), Lotte Kopecky (Lotto Soudal Ladies), Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Canyon SRAM), and Christine Majerus (Boels Dolman). It was Elisa Longo Borghini (Trek-Segafredo Women) that was driving the pace on the highway back into Nice.

Yoirkshire 2019 - Mixed Relay: A Ride to Celebrate

As the British women finished their leg of the relay, Anna Henderson reached out to Joscelin Lowde knowing that they had just finished with a great time.  The women had added to the advantage passed to them by their countrymen placing the home team in the hot seats of race leaders.  As more teams finished, it was proving to be a ride truly worth celebrating.  At the end of the day, the ride was good enough for a bronze medal in the first ever Mixed Relay Team Time Trial.  Chapeau, or should I say "hats" to the entire British team?
