Vita Heine (Norway) was being carried by the support of her home country fans as she reached the top of the now dreaded Birkelundbakken climb. Heine was hoping to put on a medal winning performance for her countrymen who haven't had much to celebrate thus far in Bergen - patrioticly at least. Riding behind her in the team car was her coach giving her encouragement, time splits and perhaps a kick in the cycling shorts as well.
