Rio Olympics: Out of the Blocks

Going back to the Women's Heptathlon, it was time for the 200 Meter race.  With the large field, the competitors were split into several heats.  Since they are racing the clock more than each other, the finishing time was the important thing.  Jessica Ennis-Hill (Great Britain), who is the defending Gold Medalist from the London Games, took this race victory, and moved herself into first overall.  Running next to her was Brianne Theisen-Eaton who faded on the home stretch,  She now sits in seventh place after the first day of the event.  These women will be back at it tomorrow.

This is a small watercolors and ink painting measuring just 4"x6" and was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.richesonart.com.  This painting and all of my Olympics artwork will be available through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  To purchase this particular painting just follow the direct link at the end of this post.
