The individual time trial can be a bit lonely, so seeing anyone along the way can be a comfort. Particularly so it if is a man who started three minutes ahead of you. And this time there was even a cycling fan out on the road with his smartphone at the ready. Either Yves Lampaert (Belgium) was having a brilliant day (he was), or Burr Ho (Hong Kong) was having a bad one (he was, as well). Lampaert hit the line on The Pearl taking over second place when he finished. Unfortunately he had to surrender his seat later on finishing the day in 7th place overall.
