Rio Olympics: Putting the Hammer Down

That is what Mara Abbott (USA) did, she went to the front and put the hammer down.  She raised the pace getting ride of her and her teammate, Megan Garnier's rivals.  Most notably, the reigning World Champion, Lizzie Armitstead (GB) had dropped off the back of this group, unfortunately so did Evelyn Stevens (USA).
