The early breakaway of six were committed to working together to stay off the front of the peloton. The move was started by Nora Jencusova (Slovakia) who seems to be having some sort of trouble. She was being helped by Fariba Hashimi (Afghanistan) and Hanna Tserakh (Individual Neutral Athletes). Later others made sure the Slovak could get her derailleur functioning again. They needed her strength to stay off the front. Along with that threesome were Fariba's sister Yulduz Hashimi (Afghanistan), Thi That Nguyen (Vietnam), and Rotem Gafinovitz (Israel). It always seems to be the case that the women will help each other until it is time to vie for the race victory towards the end of the race. It is something I rarely see in the men's peloton. This group had five minutes on the peloton as they headed back to Paris with another 85 kilometers to race.
This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available through my website at greigleach.com or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of the post to purchase the painting above. Since it is an original work of art, it is a first come first served reality. The work sells for $95 USD including shipping, but, yes, international shipping is both available and extra.
