When Froome caught Quintana, he went right by thinking he would ride alone to the top, Quintana didn't agree with that plan. After the initial gap, Nairo clawed his way back up to the Tour leader and for the next couple of kilometers matched him pedal stroke for pedal stroke. Three separate times Chris attacked the Columbian, and three times Quintana rode right back onto the Brit's wheel. The drama was played out in front of the screaming, running, flag waving fans who lined every inch of the twisting climb above tree line on this sacred climb. This is an original watercolor and ink postcard that is available for purchase at my artist website.
