Tour Stage Fifteen: With Authority

Once Richie Porte had check to see what damage he had done, and saw that it was good, he looked over at his friend and team leader and pulled off.  As he went, Froome stood up and attacked.  Contrador was unable to answer the surge of the Brit from Africa, so with Froome went his dreams of winning the Yellow Jersey today.  Froome quickly picked up Nieve and just as quickly left him behind.  All that was left was to catch Quintana and leave him behind.  The latter was not so easy.  Mount Ventoux is one of the fable climbs of the Tour de France, so thousands wanted to be on hand to watch the greats battle on its slopes.  The Tour estimated that 250,000-300,000 fans lined the twenty kilometers of this beast of Provence, many camping out on the slopes for days to get the prime spots on the course.  The noise is stunning, a wall of noise, as Phil Liggett calls it.  This is an original watercolor and ink postcard that is available for purchase at my artist website.  Just follow the direct link at the end of this post to get your original art of the 100th Tour de France.
