Finally able to ride away from the Columbian climber, Froome road alone to the top of the mountain, stamping his authority on the Tour de France, the mountain side, and the disappoint celebrants of Bastille Day. Remembering what happened on the second day in the Pyrenees, I am hesitant to award the final victory in Paris to Froome and Team Sky, but it is highly likely that today he made it impossible for anyone to catch him. His closest rival, Alberto Contrador is over 3 minutes down, and lost most of the time he gained in the winds of stage 13. This is an original watercolor and ink postcard that is available for purchase at my artist website. Just follow the direct link at the end of this post to get your art of the 100th Tour de France.
