Resplendent in his Colombian National Time Trial Champion kit, Rigoberto Uran (Etixx Quickstep) rolled down the start ramp full of hope and determination. Uran has been caught out in several stages by the accelerations of Fabio Aru (Astana), Alberto Contador (Tinkoff Saxo) and Richie Porte (Sky), so the individual time trial should have been his chance to regain some of his time losses thus far in the Giro. But like Porte, today just didn't seem to go according to script for the leader of the Etixx Quickstep team.
