That moment when you realize that you used the wrong word in the title... That should be "Taking Stock" not "Taking Stalk" although, it does feel like Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) is stalking the peloton, trying to decide who is the weakest. Behind the Rainbow Jersey ride the strongest three of Team Ineos, Michal Kwiatkowski, Egan Bernal and Geraint Thomas. Although no one expected him to still be in the lead group, Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step) matches them all pedal stroke for pedal stroke.
