TDF, Stage 11: Headed for the Grupetto

It just wouldn't be the Tour de France without a painting of Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe). Sagan was the last of the sprinters to loose the tail of the peloton on the way up the Category 1 climb of the Col de la Liguiere.  After this climb the sprinters, and the rest of the peloton, were facing two trips over the "beast of Provence" also called Mont Ventoux.  It was going to be a very hard day for the best climbers, the grupetto would be struggling to finish the day inside of the time limit.  For those who don't know, their is a maximum time the last riders are given to finish the stage.  It is based on a percentage of the time of the stage winner that factors in the overall speed of the stage and the difficulty of the climbs the peloton faced.

I am waiting to see if Sagan will come good in the second half of this Tour.  I certainly hope so.

This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available through my website at www.greigleach.com, or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of the post to purchase the painting above.  Since ti is an original work of art, it is a first come first seved reality. The painting was created using Yarka St. Petersburth watercolors from www.Richesonart.com. The work sells for $75 USD plus shipping, and yes international shipping is available.
