These six had broken free of the breakaway and were speeding their way to Mont Ventoux. The mountain has the eerie nickname of the Monster of Provenance, and for those racing in the Tour de France, that is an apt name. Undaunted, Thymen Arensmen (Ineos-Grenadiers) pushes on followed by Julian Alaphilippe (Tudor Pro Cycling) with his teammate Matteo Trentin, Enric Mas (Movistar), Jonas Abrahamsen (Uno X-Mobility) and Fred Wright (Bahrain-Victorious). With fifty-three kilometers to the summit of the monster it is likely that these guys may well vie for stage honors.
