Giro d'Italia Stage 13: Lining Up for Their Sprinters

With the break less than two minutes up the road all of the sprinters' teams went to the front to pull back the remaining three members of the break and to line out the peloton for their fast men.  The usual formula is that the break needs a minute per remaining kilometer, but with 3 K to go and the break only a minute up the road, it sure seemed like it was a sprinter's day.  Top that with today being that last chance for the speedsters until the final day, but it was one of the rare days when the peloton got it wrong.  This is an original watercolor and ink postcard that is available for purchase through my artist website at www.greigleach.com.  For this particular painting, just follow the direct link at the end of this post.  But while you are there, why not take the time to browse through all of the cycling art on offer.
