Bernhard Eisel (Team Sky) and the domestiques of Trek Factory Racing were the ones on the front of the peloton chewing up the gap between them and the four man break up the road. These four had ridden away from the peloton, as the peloton had trouble negotiating a traffic circle, a fore shadowing of what was to come later on down the road. Eisel is one of the big strong riders, often referred to as a "rouler", capable of stamping out a hard, fast rhythm on flat roads kilometer after kilometer, day after day. This is an original watercolor and ink postcard that is available for purchase on my artist website, www.greigleach.com.
