TDF, Stage 1: No Curse for this Jersey

Traditionally, it is believed that the Rainbow Jersey carries a curse for the wearer, leaving them winless during the season it is on the rider's back.  That hasn't been the case for Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step).  The other notable un-cursed wearer of the Rainbow Jersey is also in this Tour, Peter Sagan, even over the three years he wore the jersey.  Today though, Alaphilippe will gladly trade in his champion's jersey for the Maillot Jaune that will come his way with this victory.  His move was similar to the one that put him in the jersey for almost two weeks two years ago.  It remains to be seen how long he will hold the leader's jersey in this Tour.  He now has an eighteen second lead over Matthew Michaels (BikeExchange) and another six seconds on the 2020 second place finisher, Primoz Roglic (Jumbo Visma).

This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available through my website at www.greigleach.com, or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of the post to purchase the painting above.  Since ti is an original work of art, it is a first come first seved reality. The painting was created using Yarka St. Petersburth watercolors from www.Richesonart.com. The work sells for $75 USD plus shipping, and yes international shipping is available.
