TDF, Stage 5 ITT: Not What He Wanted

Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step) learned the opposite side of the power of the Maillot Jaune.  Two years ago it was his Yellow Jersey that allowed him to successfully time trial fast enough to keep his jersey for a bit longer in 2019.  Today, without the jersey, he just didn't have the legs to regain his jersey from Stage 1.  He started the day eight seconds off of Van Der Poel's lead but now is 48 seconds back and sitting in fourth overall.  Not a complete disaster by any means (others faired much worse) but it surely wasn't what he wanted to do today.  I am sure we will see him jump out of the peloton on the next hilly stage this weekend.

This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available through my website at www.greigleach.com, or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of the post to purchase the painting above.  Since ti is an original work of art, it is a first come first seved reality. The painting was created using Yarka St. Petersburth watercolors from www.Richesonart.com. The work sells for $75 USD plus shipping, and yes international shipping is available.
