Having just gained her USA citizenship, Kaillie Humphries was on fire in the debut of the Women's Monobob. Every run was the fastest ever with the exception of this final run. While it wasn't her fastest it was still the combined fastest and the Gold Medal winning run. Her former competitor, now teammate, Elana Meyers Taylor was faster on her final run, but the combinedruns earned her the Silver Medal. The pair finally broke the German strangle hold on the sliding events at the House of Speed.
