Normally I make all of the images horizontal, but when the event is called Big Air, it seems only right to show just how high up Eileen Gu (China) was as she twisted and flipped her way to a gold medal. Gu had made the choice to ski for China despite having grown up in California. She spent every summer visiting her grand parents in China, and felt that she could be a role model for Chinese girls both in and out of skiing competition. Her performance today certainly inspired us all!
I should explain the title. The move she is making in the picture, reaching under one ski to grab the ski of her opposite leg is called a "Japan Grab" Therefore I enjoyed the Chinese American skiing for China doing a move named after Japan. It was just to Asian to pass up.
