Tour '22, Stage 18: You Are Too Kind

I have been impressed with Jonas Vingegaard's (Jumbo-Visma) sportsmanship.  Yesterday's last painting was another handshake between these two after Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) won that stage.  After Pogacar crashed, Vingegaard waited for him to catch back up.  You could see him in the distance constantly looking back to see how the Maillot Blanc was getting on.  As he road up to the Maillot Jaune he reached out to shake the other's hand to say thank you for waiting.  There is an old tradition in the Tour to not attack the race leader when he has had a crash nor a mechanical.  Apparently, in Vingegaard's mind it also applies to the Maillot Blanc.  Neither wants to win the Tour over the misfortunes of the other.

This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available through my website at greigleach.com or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of the post to purchase the painting above. Since it is an original work of art, it is a first come first served reality. The painting was created using Yarka St. Petersburg watercolors and Steve Quiller brushes from www.Richesonart.com. The work sells for $90 USD including shipping, and yes, international shipping is available.

If you can't afford to purchase a piece you could always help keep me going by buying me a cup of coffee at buymeacoffee.com/greigsartc.  And check out my vlogs at my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLGX-TnjXDSkkOidUE6pN1g
