Paula Andrea Patino (Movistar) had been in the front group all stage long just waiting for her team leader (and the Maillot Jaune) Annemiek Van Vleutin to catch up with the leaders out on the road. As they closed in on the last kilometers of the stage, the Planche des Belle Filles, and the Tour de France Femmes, she was there to help Van Vleutin make her move to distance the rest of the peloton. Just as it was yesterday, only Demi Vollering (SD Worx) had any chance of holding onto the wheel of the former world champion. Vollering was over three minutes behind Van Vleutin on GC, but she had a six point lead on the Maillot Jaune in the quest for the Polka Dot Jersey of the Queen of the Mountains. All Vollering had to do was to finish within three places to claim the final Maillot a Pois.
