With the lone figure of Simon Yates (Jayco-Alula) going up the road, Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) is cheered on by Didi Stentf, aka the Devil, in his efforts to bridge up to the Brit. Steven Williams (Israel-Premier Tech) does his best to hold onto the wheel of the Ecuadorian climber. Carapaz has had the Maillot Juane for one stage this Tour, but is still looking for his first Tour de France stage win in his career.
