The remnants of the breakaway hit the bottom of the final climb, the Plateau de Beille, with just shy of three minutes advantage on the group with the Maillot Jaune, Blanc, and a Pois. With twenty-four kilometers up the side of a Pyrenean mountain it might just be enough to keep them away. That is certainly what Tobias Johannessen (Uno-X Mobility), Laurens De Plus (Ineos-Grenadiers), Enric Mas (Movistar), Jai Hindley (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) and of course Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) were hoping for. All they can do is get up the mountain as fast as they can. They can hope that the leaders of this Tour don't decide to attack each other. If those behind call a truce for the day, then it is highly likely that one of these five will win the day. It is, however, very unlikely that a truce will be called between the three top men of the Tour.
This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available through my website at greigleach.com or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of the post to purchase the painting above. Since it is an original work of art, it is a first come first served reality. The work sells for $95 USD including shipping, but, yes, international shipping is both available and extra.
