I've always enjoyed the expression, "Needs must." I believe it is British in derivation and I take it to mean that sometimes you must do thinks that might not work out, but they must be done. So, it was today with Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike). He had to try and gain back some time on his main rival, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates). After his teammate had done all he could on the final climb of the day, it was up to Vingegaard to try and drop the Maillot Jaune. Conversely, all Pogacar needed to do was stay glued to the wheel of the Maillot a Pois. The two had caught all of the early break, and now had built a twenty-five second gap on the guy sitting in third overall, Remco Evenepoel. As they toiled up to the summit of the Plateau de Beille, Vingegaard was unable to gain an inch on the Slovenian glued to his wheel.
This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available through my website at greigleach.com or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of the post to purchase the painting above. Since it is an original work of art, it is a first come first served reality. The work sells for $95 USD including shipping, but, yes, international shipping is both available and extra.
