The Cime de la Bonette not only was a Haute Catagorie climb, it is also the highest point of this Tour de France. With such a distinction, it also carried double King of the Mountain points to whomever went over first. And a corresponding extra number of points for each following position over the top. With Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) claiming the maximum points on this climb as well, he is now the virtual King of the Mountains. He was followed over the top of the Tour by Matteo Jorgenson (Visma-Lease a Bike) and his teamate Wilco Kelderman. Just tangling off of this trio is Cristian Rodriguez (Arkea-B&B Hotels). They had dropped the main breakaway group of about another five guys. Visma-Lease a Bike look like they have a plan to try and steal time back on the Maillot Jaune. By putting these two guys off the front, their leader, Jonas Vingegaard has some helpers should he be able to get away from the peloton. Will he attack on this climb?
This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available through my website at greigleach.com or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of the post to purchase the painting above. Since it is an original work of art, it is a first come first served reality. The work sells for $95 USD including shipping, but, yes, international shipping is both available and extra.
