Tour, Stage 10: Putting Him Back Together
I've been talking with Tom Skujins (Trek-Segafredo) on twitter about getting another watercolor of him in the Tour, I don't think this is what he was hoping for. I also doubt seriously that he wanted to leave this much skin and cycling kit on the roads of France. It still amazes me that the guys are able to get up after a hard crash, chase back to the peloton and keep racing for the rest of the stage. Equally impressive is the race doctor's patching them up on the fly sometimes at over 30 kilometers an hour. Today Skujins could have used a seamstress to go along with a medic. He was certainly left showing a lot of bare flesh on his back side.
Yesterday was the Covid testing day during the rest day. Happily, only five people tested positive, all either team staff, or Christian Prudhomme, all of whom had to leave the race.
This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available though my website at www.greigleach.com, or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of this post. Since it is an original it is first come first served. The painting was created using Yarka St Petersburg watercolors from Richesonart.com. The work sells for $75 plus shipping. And yes, international shipping is available.
