Tour, Stage 14: Disposing of His Competition

Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) is still a bit miffed about his relegation and 13 point penalty for unsafe sprinting a couple of stages ago.  The decision by the race jury had put him 70 points behind in the race for his eighth Maillot Vert, which would break his own record of seven.  Today's hilly stage gave him the chance to get rid of all of the other sprinters in the Tour (sprinters are not the best climbers in the pro peloton).  Sagan but all of his team on the front including yesterday's second place finisher, Lennard Kamna, and the third place finisher Maximilian Schachmann to push the pace beyond what the current leader in the points competition, Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quick Step) could handle.  He pulled back five points at the intermediate sprint, and if he can win the stage without Bennett getting any points he would only be nine points out of Green (he has picked up 6 points prior to today).  So, Bora-Hansgrohe will be pushing all of the way to Lyon.

This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available though my website at www.greigleach.com, or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of this post.  Since it is an original it is first come first served.  The painting was created using Yarka St Petersburg watercolors from Richesonart.com. The work sells for $75 plus shipping. And yes, international shipping is available.
