Tour, Stage 11: Drawing the Sting

The title is another one of Phil Liggett's phrases and to be honest, I don't really understand what it means.  I think the idea is that if a teammate of the guy who is suppose to sprint for the win, goes early, the lead out trains of his rivals will tire themselves chasing him down.  If you have a better understanding, please let me know.  Lukas Postleburger (Bora-Hansgrohe) went off the front, it was unlikely he would take the stage, but it did force the lead out men of the Maillot Vert, Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quick Step), Bob Jungels and Jasper Asgreen to sprint after the Austrian.  The trio of fox and hounds had just five kilometers to the finish in Portiers.

This is a small 4x6 inch original watercolor painting that is available though my website at www.greigleach.com, or you can simply follow the direct link at the end of this post.  Since it is an original it is first come first served.  The painting was created using Yarka St Petersburg watercolors from Richesonart.com. The work sells for $75 plus shipping. And yes, international shipping is available.
